TXDOT is proposing a 16 lane expansion of 290W, that would drastically alter the hill country and the town of Dripping Springs.

Half Rectangle Line

TXDOT’s hired engineers from AtkinsRealis said, "this proposed expansion of 290 from 1826 into Dripping Springs, would be similar to

I-35 in Austin”

Image is of 8 lane overpass with frontage roads on either side (similar TXDOTs plans for Circle Drive, Fitzhugh, Nutty Brown, Belterra and Sawyer Ranch)

CALL TO ACTION:

TXDOT has heard our request for a 2nd meeting with TXDOT and the community of Dripping Springs and are looking to hold their 2nd public meeting the last week in May. Date and location are still TBD.

Save Dripping Springs is asking everyone to please take 2 mins to email TXDOT and insist that the community wide meeting they're planning for May, be a format that allows the community to speak in a constructive and unified voice with TXDOT leaders, planners and directors also present at the meeting. We do not want an open house or a “come and go” format. We want something similar to the TXDOT Commision meetings where the public fills out a card before the meeting and is given a chance to speak.
